Bounce Management
One of the headaches of managing mailing lists is taking care of email addresses that no longer work. The problem with email addresses that bounce is that there are multiple possible reasons for them to bounce.Sometimes emails bounce when an email address is no longer in use. These emails should be removed from your mailings. Sometimes emails bounce because an individual's email box is full. These are email addresses that you will want to keep in your system. Sometimes emails bounce because there is a spelling mistake in the email address. If you can correct these then they are worth keeping.
How do we deal with this?
Full Contact has implemented ways to deal with both of the above situations. You can choose to block sending to all users who bounce. You can also make use of our innovative scoring system to determine which email addresses are consistently failing, keeping them around until they bounce three times and then removing them.
You can also choose to process each of your bounces individually: assigning it a bounce score, blocking it completely or attempting to fix a typo in the email address.
The solutions here are simple, wide-reaching and powerful, exactly what you need to manage your online newsletters!
